What information is tested
- Brand and generic names in both directions
- Therapeutic drug class
- Common indication (the condition a drug is typically used for)
Brand vs generic study tips
Study brand and generic pairs together, not separately. Say the pair out loud, then quiz yourself in both directions. Anchor pairs by class (e.g. all statins end in "-statin"). Use short daily reviews rather than one long session.
Drug class study tips
Group medications by class and learn what every class does. Learn one representative drug per class first (e.g. lisinopril for ACE inhibitors), then extend to other members. Note the shared suffix or prefix patterns that hint at a class.
